Kevin Harper studied architecture and fine art at the University of Toronto,
graduating in 1986 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art History. After
working for the Toronto Historical Board, he was recruited by the Elgin and
Winter Garden Theatre restoration project, acting as the project's research
officer for three years.
Since 1989, Mr. Harper has been a Research Associate with Janis A. Barlow &
Associates, providing research for a variety of projects including: the Carolina Theatre in
Durham, NC; the Palace Theatre in Waterbury, CT; the Loews Theatre in Montreal,
QC; the Regent Theatre in Oshawa, ON; the Wayne Theatre in Waynesboro, VA; the
New Dixie Theatre in Staunton, VA; the New England Center for the Performing
Arts in Franklin, MA; the Amherst Cinema Center in Amherst, MA; the
Plaza Theatre, Laredo, TX; the Building Blocks Forum, Toronto, ON; and the
Goodwill Theatre, Johnson City, NY.
From 1991 to 2000, Mr. Harper was the Deputy Registrar of the Ontario
Professional Planners Institute, the professional association for urban and
regional planners in the province of Ontario. He is currently the
Executive Assistant for the Simcoe (Toronto) Chapter of Lambda Alpha
International, an honourary land economics society.
