FEES AND CONTRACTING

Janis A. Barlow & Associates maintains a very competitive fee structure, but advocates a competitive selection process that is not based solely on an award to the lowest bidder.

Most consulting assignments should be awarded on the basis of specific expertise, relevant experience, resources, understanding of the assignment, methodology and compatibility.

The firm encourages potential clients to talk to several prospective consultants, to articulate their specific requirements and to invite proposals from qualified consultants.

Contracts can be awarded on the basis of a fee for a set of deliverables or on an hourly basis. The normal range of fees for qualified arts consultants with a research and support infrastructure is about $100 to $250 per hour.
